Muscat Municipality has installed 18 new rides and swings at Riyam Park in Muttrah.
To reduce injuries, the municipality has laid impact-absorbing rubber surface tiles in the play area.
The civic body is planning to introduce similar safe play areas across parks in the Capital region. The safety features have been introduced as per the European Standards for Playground Equipment: EN 1176, said an official from the civic body.
