Sports in Ras al Hadd gets Oman LNG’s support – Oman

The support comes at a time where the whole nation is celebrating the Omani national team as the champion of the Arabian Gulf Cup tournament.

The sports pitch will be utilised by all the local sport teams in Ras al Hadd and neighbouring villages and will ensure that the new grounds extend benefits to the entire community. Sports plays a prominent role in keeping individuals’ health in a good condition, as it is an essential driver to spread and maintain a healthy lifestyle culture.

This project builds on previous support by Oman LNG where it has supported similar projects in Tiwi and in Qalhat, Sur, which both aim to provide youth with ample opportunities to develop talent in an ideal environment.

The agreement was inked by H E Sheikh Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Sports Affairs and Hilal bin Ali al Sinani, senior manager for CSR and Public Relations of Oman LNG Development Foundation.

Sinani said, “Through these initiatives, we hope to provide support where communities feel it is most needed. Our aim is to serve the community and contribute to all segments of the society wherever possible.”

Attesting to the company’s high degree of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices, thorough standards of review and implementation, Oman LNG has been honoured as the Best Company in Corporate Social Responsibility in Sultan Qaboos Voluntary Work Award.

The company is also recognised as the Best Company in Social Investment in the Arab World in the ‘Arab Best’ competition.

Oman LNG has an ambitious Social Investment Programme addressing many areas of development in Oman but broadly divided into three main categories: Community Fund that targets initiatives related to the Sur Community; a National Fund that covers a large swath of the company’s social development programme including Donations, National Projects and Human Resource Development and a Reserve Fund.
