Water supply to be disrupted in parts of Muscat

Water supply will be affected in several parts of the Muscat governorates on Friday and Saturday, it has been announced.

In a statement, the Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) has announced that in order to implement some of these strategic projects, which are planned to begin on July 8 and will continue for 48 hours, the water supply will be affected in the Al Amerat, Muscat, Muttrah and Wattayah areas of the Muscat Governorate.

“The authority would like to apologise for any shortage in water supply that might possibly take place, and requests all subscribers to take every necessary precaution and continue rationing the consumption,” PAEW said.

A number of projects are expected to be implemented during the Eid-Al-Fitr holidays, according to Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Naimi, director general of Operations.

“The reason to select Eid-Al-Fitr holidays for implementing these projects is because water consumption during the festive period is low as most of the residents go out to spend their holidays,” Al Naimi said.

PAEW is working to implement a number of water projects that contribute to the upgrading of this vital sector in various governorates of the Sultanate.
