971 expat workers found violating Labour Law; 185 deported

Muscat – The Ministry of Manpower’s (MoM) weekly report says that 971 workers were found to be violating the Labour Law between January 31 and February 6.

These included 871 commercial workers, 47 farm workers and 53 housemaids and their equivalents. Of these violators, 970 were arrested. Of these 251 had been declared absconding, 690 were retrenched workers and 29 had other violations registered against them.

North Batinah recorded the highest law violations (666), followed by Muscat governorate (170). Also, 185 expat workers were deported during the period.
