An elderly Indian woman was killed on the spot in an accident that took place in Wattayah on Saturday.
Her son, a doctor with a private hospital in Ruwi, was injured when their car collided with a truck.
The doctor is reported to be out of danger. “We are waiting for the doctor to recover before the process to repatriate his mother’s body begins,” his colleagues said. The doctor is from the hospital’s cardiology department and hails from the southern Indian state of Kerala.
