Parts of the sultanate including Muscat, Musandam, Al Hajar Mountains, South Sharqiyah, Al Wusta and Buraimi will experience mild to heavy fog till the next 24 hours.
According to the Meteorological Department, fog will disappear by Thursday afternoon. However, there will be low clouds in Muscat and surrounding areas.
A Met official said, “This is a normal phenomenon during this time of the year. It happens because of humidity and wind. This also leads to fall in temperature. There are also chances of light rain.”
The sea will be rough along the coast of Musandam with maximum wave height of 3m.
Visibility can be poor in the desert and open areas with strong winds stirring up dust.
The minimum temperature in Muscat will be around 18-20°C while in Jebel Akhdar and Jebel Shams it will be 10°C and 9°C respectively.
