Indian School Seeb to introduce safe transport system for students

Some 450 students have enrolled to join the school monitored transport, while 100 students have been included in the initial stage and the remaining will be accommodated in due course of time.

After Indian School Mabela and Indian School Darsait, Indian School Al Seeb is introduce the “School Monitored Safe Transport System,” which according to authorities will become operational from the first week of March.

During the initial stage, six buses will ply on four different routes on a trial basis.

The school plans to cover all the routes as and when the requirements meet the minimum capacity to run on a route.

Some 450 students have enrolled to join the school monitored transport, while 100 students have been included in the initial stage and the remaining will be accommodated in due course of time.

The number of children travelling in the buses will be strictly limited to the seating capacity and as per the Indian School’s Board of Directors’ safe transport specifications and in line with the ROP and Ministry of Education safety guidelines. As per the instructions of the transport core committee, the buses will be fitted with safety features, such as CCTV for monitoring students and drivers, seat belts as per the seating capacity, IVMS for monitoring the buses, emergency exit, well maintained seats and interiors etc.

Trained and experienced drivers have been recruited. To ensure the safety of the students, there will be a trained assistant or helper in the bus.

A school staff will be present in the bus to monitor the pick-up and drop-off of the students.

The Indian School Al Seeb’s management committee, under the guidance of the Board of Directors, has adopted this unparalleled initiative to execute quality implementation of a reliable, secure and safe transportation system and to ensure the utmost safety and comfort of its students.

The execution of the new transport system will be carried out by private bus operator National Distance Trading LLC, Azaiba.

Based on its capacity to meet the maximum safety standards and resources, the private operator was chosen through a tender process by the School Management Committee and has been awarded the contract.

The transport system will be kept continuously under surveillance of the school transport governing body and will be constantly monitored to guarantee the safety and security of the students. The system will operate on a larger scale with more and more parents opting for this transport system in the days to come.

Indian School Al Seeb is the third Indian School in Oman to implement a safe transport system plan by the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman.
