MoH hikes fees for health services

The Ministry of Health in Oman has revised the fees of various services as part of measures initiated by the government to expand the source of revenues for the government.

A statement issued by the ministry said that the fees for attestation of sick leaves (more than two days) issued from abroad or from private health institutions will RO5.
The fees to issue free health card have been revised to RO5, which was earlier RO1.
A health ministry official confirmed that the prices have come into effect only a few days ago. “The registration for a health card has been increased to RO5 from RO1 but the consultation fees stay at 200bz,” he said.
Fees of various other services provided by the Ministry of Health have been also increased in varying degrees. A Good Standing Certificate will be issued for RO10.
It may be noted that the government in its budget statement for 2016 had said fees and licences of all government services, including that for resident cards, utility services, real estate transactions, municipal services, vehicle registration and renewal and driving licence will be increased this year.
Last week, the government issued a statement which said the fees for identity and resident cards have been raised by RO 1.
