Mom's prayers saved me, says lady who overslept and survived Flydubai crash

All 55 passengers and seven crew members died in accident

A Russian lady who missed the flight that crashed had overslept following a late night party.

She believes her mother’s prayers could have rescued her and prevented her from taking the return flight.

Elvira Isaeva, who was visiting the UAE on a holiday overslept after attending a birthday party the previous night.

The woman who is in her early thirties is currently staying at a hotel in Dubai and will not return to Russia for another week.

According to media reports from Russia, the company that managed her trip have promised to pay for her accommodation and food for the extra days she plans to stay in Dubai following the accident.

All 55 passengers who were on board apart from the seven crew members died in the accident, the cause of which is yet to be ascertained.

According to Russian media, the woman who continued to be in tears said she considers it to be sheer luck.

“I don’t know how it happened. It was sheer luck. I just overslept – and that’s it,” she told Russia’s LifeNews.

Andrey Sevastyanov from Natalie Tours, the company that organised Elvira’s tour says the company will be paying for her stay as well for her return tickets.

She was woken up by a phone call from the tour operator. She later switched on the news to realise that the flight she had missed had crashed.

“I do not know, is it my luck, a guardian angel watching over me or my mother’s prayers, but I’m in dismay,” she is reported to have told the Russian news channel.
