A number of officials from the ministry and the governorate attended the event.
The project includes 22km of service roads, two roundabouts, three flyovers, three tunnels for vehicles and 11 tunnels for animals.
It also has a 150m long bridge near Khor Rori.
The project also includes lighting facilities, metal barriers on both sides of the road, road safety measures including side protections and drainage facilities.
The road consists of two traffic lanes in each direction with a width of 3.75m, per lane.
There are also 2.5m wide external asphalt shoulders, 1.5m wide internal shoulders with average island width of the road being 4.5m.
