Mwasalat airport taxi services from today

The base fare is RO 3. Up to 30 km, it will be 400 baisas per km

Mwasalat will take over operations of taxi services at Muscat International Airport from Oman Airport Management Company (OAMC) from Sunday with revised fares.

Mobbashir Abdul Majeed al Balushi, General Manager, Mwasalat Taxi, said 85 taxis will be in operation initially and the number will go up depending on demand from the new airport terminal. All taxis will have electronic fare meters and navigation devices. The new fares are as follows: The base fare is RO 3. Up to 30 km, it will be 400 baisas per km and after 30 km, it will be 200 baisas per km. The minimum fare to the airport is RO 5. These fares are applicable on weekdays between 6 am and 10 pm.

Night fares will apply for travel between 10 pm and 6 am. The base fare will start from RO 3.6 and thereafter up to 30 km, it is 450 baisas per km. After 30 km, it will be 200 baisas per km. Previously, the minimum price was RO 6 and 200 baisas for every km. An additional RO 1.5 will be charged for minivan (5+1 passengers), while the waiting charges are 50 baisas per minute.

Passengers can lodge complaints and provide feedback on 24121555. Mwasalat will operate 10 new buses on two routes in conjunction with the flight schedules from the new airport, which will open on March 20.  Services will operate every 15 minutes to Burj al Sahwa and Ruwi from the new terminal.
