Oman’s first waterpark to open in Salalah tomorrow – Oman

Spread over 65,600sq m, the park is being projected as the ideal place to enjoy a host of activities including slides, leisure pools, a toddlers’ pool, pool-front cabins, sliding swimming pools, wave pools, a main tower and more. “Capable of accommodating 500 people daily, the Hawana Aqua Park is a getaway for all ages with its own dedicated food court, retail area and parking lot,” stated the company.

The opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of H E Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan bin Hamoud al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, along with other dignitaries including H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism. The ceremony will mark the opening of Hawana Aqua Park, Souly Camp (luxury eco huts) and extension of rooms in Fanar Hotel & Residences and Salalah Rotana Resort. During a recent visit to review the progress of the park, H E Mehrzi said, “The aqua park is a dynamic addition to the entertainment facilities of Hawana Salalah’s first-class tourism project.

“The state-of-the-art development highlights the important role ITCs continue to play in attracting investment to Oman, serving as a gateway for domestic and international visitors to enjoy the year-round beauty of the Governorate of Dhofar.”

Ahmed Dabbous, CEO of Muriya, during the launch of Phase II of the Lagoons project at Hawana Salalah in September 2017 was quoted as saying, “In a testament to the strong commitment of our shareholders, Orascom Development Holding and Omran, to the continuous growth of Hawana Salalah, exciting new additions will become operational soon.

“Our 65,600sq m Hawana Aqua Park with some 40 slides and water games for adults and toddlers will be opening along with 98 rooms to be added to the Fanar Hotel & Residences and 22 rooms to the Salalah Rotana Resort, bringing Hawana Salalah’s total operating hotel rooms to some 900 rooms.”
