Pakistan School Muscat cultural show and food fest on May 7

Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) will organise a cultural show and a food festival to raise funds for its expansion and future projects on May 7. Renowned Pakistani singer Amanat Ali will perform at the show.

Adnan Shehzad, chairman of board of directors, PSM, said, “We generated around RO12,000 last year and expect to generate the same this year. Last year, the festival was held for two days and we saw a footfall of 16,000. This year we are expecting between 7,000 and 9,000 people. Our cultural shows have received great response from different communities in the past, and we are expecting this year’s event to be bigger and better.”

Shehzad said, “It was expected that this year there would be less admissions but we have surprisingly done well. We currently have 2,004 students at PSM, 1,000 in Seeb and more than 5,000 students in other branches. Speaking about the special education centre facility, he said, “We currently have 21 students in the facility and about 19 are on the waiting list.

“The school needs money to build a centre for education, a library and a special education centre and a college block. We are planning to open a school in Buraimi and later in Ibra in Sharqiyah.” Regarding the food festival, Attaullah Niazi, senior principal, Pakistan Schools System in Oman, said, “We take this opportunity to invite people of different communities to enjoy the traditional cuisine of our country.”

Food stalls at the festival will sell items like chicken tikka, chappli kabab, pani puri, chana chat and dahi vade, biryani, korma and other Pakistani food items. Entry ticket to the food festival will be RO3 for general public and RO2 for students. The festival begins at 7pm.
