State Council chairman receives NDC’s fifth batch delegation

The State Council chairman welcomed the delegation. He appreciated the efforts of the armed forces personnel for the work they are doing to serve the homeland, stated a press release.

H E Dr Mantheri praised the vital role of NDC in upgrading the skills of armed forces personnel through different training programmes as per the wishes of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in the development of Omani cadres in various sectors.

He said that the State Council aims to fulfil its role in accordance with the powers through consultative process.

H E Dr Mantheri said that the inauguration of the Council of Oman building by His Majesty the Sultan on November 12, 2012, coincided with the commencement of the second annual session of the fifth term of the Council of Oman.

“It was an important milestone in the consultative process to enable the council in carrying out the work by optimally using modern facilities and equipment.

“The Council of Oman building combines traditional and contemporary features. The architectural grandeur reflects the Omani heritage, the Islamic culture and is an important addition to the civilisation in the sultanate.”

H E Dr Mantheri recently delivered a lecture to the fifth batch of NDC titled ‘State Council and its strategic role in national development’.

Maj Gen Salim bin Musallam bin Ali Qatan, commandant of NDC, said the visit was aimed at identifying the nature of the council’s work as it plays a vital role in national development process.

The meeting was attended by H E Sheikh Dr Al Khatab bin Ghalib bin Ali al Hinai, vice chairman of the State Council, H E Dr Khalid bin Salim al Saeedi, secretary general of the State Council and council members H E Yahya Rasheed Rashid al Juma’a, H E Sheikh Nasser bin Said bin Nasser al Haddabi, H E Mahfoodh Hamood Mohamed al Wahaibi and H E Hamed Salim Hamed al Junaibi.
