The Batinah North Governorate Police in Sohar have arrested a woman expatriate on murder charges.
As per the reports, ROP received a communication from a private hospital with regards to the admission of an expatriate woman in a critical condition. The investigation team immediately rushed to the hospital and found marks of physical abuse on her bruised body.
It was evident that the woman died due to torture and further investigations revealed that the victim came to Oman on a visit visa and was made to work as a domestic help. She was physically tortured on refusal to obey the accused.
Reports said while the accused has been arrested, another defendant in the case was referred to the public prosecutor for his alleged involvement in bringing the victim to Oman and forcing her to work against the rules and her wishes.
