Heavy rain falls in many parts of Sultanate

Heavy Rain fell on different parts of the Sultanate on Saturday, a weather enthusiast said quoting residents.

Bader Ali Al Baddaei, administrator of a local Web-based forum that discusses weather in Oman told that heavy rain fell in some parts of Sharqiyah area, Samail and Jebel Akhdar.

“Some of the wadis in Sharqiyah area and Samail are overflowing due to heavy rain,” he added.

There were drizzles in some parts of Muscat governorate, according to the residents.

Oman meteorological department’s recent weather forecast predicts intermittent drizzle and fog formation in the Dhofar governorate and adjoining mountains.

“Mainly clear skies over rest of the Sultanate with chances of clouds development and isolated rain, occasionally thundershowers over Al Hajar Mountains towards afternoon,” forecast said.

“Chance of late night to early morning low level clouds along most of the coastal areas,” forecast added.

The forecast also predicted dust rising over deserts and open area due to fresh winds.
