His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said has conferred Oman Civil Order (Third Class) on Sheikh Salim bin Said al Wahaibi, chairman of the Oman Football Association and Order of Merit (First Class) on Pim Verbeek, manager of the Oman Football Team.
The orders were conferred in appreciation of their efforts in Oman’s title triumph at the 23rd Gulf Cup that concluded in Kuwait on Friday.
The orders were handed over by Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal bin Saud al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court when he received them in his office on Monday morning. The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Said al Mardhouf al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs.
