A List of New Fee & Fines has released by ROP

The ROP has released a list of new fees and fines. The list was issued by Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shuraiqi, inspector general of police and customs, ROP.

According to the list, expatriates will now have to pay RO20 for the issuance of a no-conviction certificate and RO10 for fingerprint verification.

ROP has also imposed a fine of RO100 on celebratory fireworks. The other fee is RO10 for the issuance of a certificate of good conduct for Omanis and annual authorisation cards for Public Relation Officers of companies in the sultanate.

Fines between RO40 and RO100 will be imposed on those found in possession of firearms without licence.

The amount of fine will depend on the type of firearm. While individuals will be fined RO40 for failing to renew a firearm licence, shooting clubs will be fined RO150.

According to the decision, fine for handing over an unlicensed weapon to another person is RO50.

A fine of RO100 will be imposed on anyone found in possession of firearms with silencers.

The fine for possessing ammunition of not more than 50 bullets without licence will be RO60, while fine for failing to renew licence for selling weapons and ammunition will be RO200.
