Low pressure trough to affect Oman from Tuesday

The latest weather analysis in the National Multi Hazard Early Warning Centre (NMHEWC) shows that the Sultanate will be affected by deep upper air trough starting from Tuesday (March 22) and lasting until Thursday (March 24) effecting the northern governorates of the Sultanate and extends to effect parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates.

Isolated rains occasionally thundershower associated with fresh wind may become strong, flash flood and hail are expected over the governorates of Musandam, Muscat, Al Buraimi, A’Dhahirah, North and South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah and North and South A’Sharqiyah with chances of isolated rains over the governorates Al Wusta and Dhofar on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sea state expected to be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and Oman Sea with maximum wave height ranging between 2 to 3.5 meters.

Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) advices public to take an extreme precautions while raining, avoid crossing wadis and sailing during the weather condition and follow the updated weather bulletins.
