Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsen al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs in the ROP has issued resolution 60/2016 amending some provisions of the Traffic Law. As per the new resolution, the rates for number plates have been revised.
The longer number plate (520mmx110mm), which earlier cost RO5.5, will now cost RO10. The rate for other sizes has been increased from RO4.5 to RO8.
The new resolution is based on the Traffic Law promulgated by Royal Decree 28/93 and its executive regulations, and as per approval of the Ministry of Finance. A source in the ROP confirmed that the rates for vehicle number plates have been hiked.
