Muscat Municipality has announced that the revised parking fee will come into effect from October 16 in some areas.
The civic body will charge 100bz for every 30 minutes instead of 50bz.
The areas where the revised fee will be charged from next week include, North Ghubra, Qurm, Al Khuwayr, Al Khoudh Souq, Seeb Souq, Friday market in Wadi Kabir and Muttrah.
In addition to parking fee, the civic body announced increase in fines for various traffic offences in August to boost revenues.
Parking without paying or exceeding time limit will invite a fine of RO10 now instead of RO3.
