The expat who was knocked down and then fatally run over in Ma’abela last week has been identified as Vasudevan, a native of the southern Indian state of Kerala.
His body, kept at the Armed Forces Hospital, was identified by his brother in law, who works in Oman.
“We have informed the Indian Embassy about his death apart from concerned Oman government agencies and his employer. The body may be repatriated soon,” said G C Babu, a social worker. Vasudevan was knocked down by a speeding car at around 7pm on Thursday near a souq in Ma’abela.
A following vehicle ran over him, killing him on the spot, social workers said. The ROP has collected information from a person whose car is believed to have been involved in the accident.
