Government on Sunday announced a one-day holiday for both public and private sector employees to mark Oman’s Renaissance Day.
H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower on Sunday issued a decision stating that July 24 (Sunday) will be an official holiday to mark the Renaissance Day which falls on July 23 every year.
Work in private sector establishments will resume on July 25 (Monday). The decision allowed employers and employees to agree on work arrangements during the holiday if necessity arises. Employees whose weekly-offs coincides with the holiday of the aforesaid occasion must be compensated.
