Muscat Municipality has started a campaign against unauthorized vendors selling barbecues in various parts of the capital.
As per the campaign, unauthorized sellers of meat in outdoor stalls who violated health and municipality norms despite repeated warnings and deadlines were fined with their equipment seized. Muscat Municipality has warned the vendors selling meat and also vegetables that legal actions will be initiated against them if they continue to sell meat products on the roads and in open areas. Barbecues sold in open stalls have been popular in various parts of Oman, especially outside the city limits, regardless of health safety and hygiene concerns.
