Water charges hiked, says PAEW

The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) has hiked water charges for government, commercial and industrial users.

Sheikh Dr Abdul Malik Abdullah al Hinai, chairman, Board of Directors, PAEW issued the decision on May 22.

As per the new decision, a flat rate of 3.5bz per gallon will be charged from all government, commercial and industrial users. The old rate was 2.5bz per gallon for consumption up to 5,000 gallons and 3bz for consumption above 5,000 gallons.

The tariff for residential users has remain unchanged which is 2bz for consumption up to 5,000 gallons and 2.5bz for consumption above 5,000 gallons.
