By ONA: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) on Monday announced the launch and distribution of the new RO1 notes at banks operating across the sultanate.
In a statement, CBO said that it decided against distributing new 100bz and 500bz notes as there are enough such notes already in circulation.
The bank said that it has 100bz and 500bz notes in stock to meet any demand. CBO also dismissed the news being circulated on social media that it is not introducing new 100bz and 500bz notes due to high costs.
